Default Run my truck 1/8th mile...slowness

I run my truck friday night to get some before runs. I will soon be putting another 5.3 in it with a cam and some other things.

My truck is a 2001 ECSB 5.3L, stock 275,000 miles on motor and trans. stock 3.42 gear, stock old hard tires(literally a stock factory 10 year old tire)
Only mods are: lowered, Ebay CAI, electric fans, high flow muffler, free mods (air-gap, TB bypass)

It was hot like usual (90 or so) and the track sucked like usual.
All runs are on full tree. before you think im some kind of machine.lol

1st run: did not build it up to leave, bogged of course.
r/t - .440
60' - 2.348
330' - 6.649
1/8 - 10.205
mph - 69.56

2nd run: built it up and it spun like ****
r/t - .419
60' - 2.464
330' - 6.773
1/8 - 10.307
mph - 70.06

3rd run: remembered to bag my tires. lol didnt build it up so i wouldnt spin. Completely leaving from idle, then flat foot it
r/t - .491
60' - 2.347
330' - 6.641
1/8 - 10.168
mph - 70.17

I know this is slow but I was pleased with these numbers as this truck has 275K on the drivetrain, uses oil and was on some worn out stock tires. (actually the oil light came on and I checked it and it wasnt even on the stick) so I drove to the store and got a quart, poured it in and kept drivin. haha
I think with a better tire it would go 9.90 as it sits, and thats awesome for a heavy stocker like mine.

Im excited to see what a fresher motor and the z06 cam will get me.

Did you run at douglas? and where are you from? I also think you should look into a better cam than the Z06, trust me, if you go with what you think will suit you then it will leave you wanting more..........it's an addictive game man

I know its addictive also, I sold my foxbody mustang to get the truck. I have 5-6 different engine/tranny combos before i decided i would never be happy with it.

I know it isnt the same but with my Aeroforce scan gauge, on the street I ran a 10 flat spinning the first 20ft on bald goodyears. Only mods are in my sig. Safe to say these heavy trucks and 5.3s run decent no matter the milage conisdering the weight.

Ran the truck with the 20's on. Kinda surprising it ran nearly the same as with shorter stock tires.

got a 10.31 out of it. Slow yes but I got my base times now im ready to do the motor and add some goodies.
