well i ran my truck on friday night and im really disappointed...
it ran a fastest of 16.6 with a reaction time of .175
and my mods are stock. 4.8/auto/rcsb
so what gives??

Good reaction time fer sure and now you have your baseline, get to work a modding and see your times drop!

my first try.. i was dumb and left on green so it wasnt that great
but i remember seing quiks video and he leaves on the last yello... and i did that then i put out that .175
but i cant find my slips.. but my mph was 83 and 81.. i believe but i dont remember the other ones...

That is about all you are going to get out of a stock 4.8, so nothing out of the ordinary there. Like 2K5Squirrel said, he got 1.5 second out of gears and tune (Nelson) which will run you about $1000. Add a 100 (or 150) shot of nitrous for $500 and you might see a high 14...

I have an Extended cab 4.8L, a little home brewed tunning
, intake, shorties, electric fans and I ran a best of 16.0, after my Corsa I can't even get it that far...but I need better weather to make a fair comparison. One thing to notice with the 4.8L, it's a rev. happy motor, I've caught people by surprise several times at the top end. A nice tight stall converter at ~2600 rpms will make that truck roll out. Beyond that gears and a tune will be helpfull.
