I went to gateway one night with 245/50-16 Riken Raptor street tires...I accidentally launched in 2nd gear and this is what happened

1.59 60' 11.19 @ 122 mph.

Preveous runs were

1.69 60' 11.33 @ 122
1.64 60' 11.22 @122

Sad thing is I went back the next week with MT et streets and went

1.51 60' 10.89 @ 124 mph launching in 1st...

Hmmm well that doesnt make me feel good at having a chance at this thing lol. I figured the best street tire guys would cut is 1.8s+

I had my truck at the track last night..it has street tires on it and my best 60' was a 1.92

four passes, kinda inconsistent with wheel hop

2.00, 1.92, 2.099, and 1.92. it would spin and get wheel hop if I didn't do a big burnout

Have you tried launching in 2nd gear? it works for my Camaro.

I have been to the track alot and one other car I have seen went 11.55..others usually get low 12's.


Not saying people haven't gone faster, its just not that common

We had a street tire event like that this year too, my buddy had a 1000rwhp camaro and he went wide open just before crossing the 1/4 mile line and the tires went up is smoke lol. but he did get a 10.8 at 142.

I ran my 11.6@115.9 on bfg radial ta. I was in 4wd but spun all 4 way past the 60' marker. My best 60' was 1.60, but not on that run.

This is on my stock all season 245/70/17 Hankook's in 4x4. I had to leave @2500RPM and half throttle until 2nd gear. 6.0L, Isky 212, T78 14psi. I think I could get a 10.30 if I had a little better street tire.
