Default Practicing with REAL street tires.

So our local track is running a TRUE street tire race in a few week. Deal is you have to drive thru the gates, insured, and run Non-drag radial tires. Winner takes $500.

Well, I figure a couple test runs is a good idea. Lets just say this going to be tough, real tough for the 500+HP guys to make this happen. I tested launching at 2500, was cutting 2.0 60', but it was around 330 foot area when I started laying into past 50% that fun started lol.

I'm running NT05's on the rear. 200 tread rating. Managed a couple high 7 second passes. I think if I can cut a mid 7 1/8th and good light I "may" have a chance at it.

Ha sounds like you left idling to keep from spinning. That should be one heck of a challenge for you. I know mine which is mostly stock was spinning bad on street tires, I couldn't imagine with the power you are putting down.

I know a guy that ran an 11 flat on 20 inch radials, but it wasnt posted to the internet, aka didnt happen.

What are the acutal specs? I see you say non drag radials( which I think he was on)? So im assuming they would toss them out, even at 20 inch wheel specs?

Thats when the real driver in you comes out. Good luck!
This is where 4wd would come in very handy.
I tried to run on street tires one time at the track and it was a FAIL.

Your truck is a BEAST, and your track isn't closed for the WINTER. I hate you.

I wish they would open ours up during the winter. Heat it or something I dunno.. but making a pass when the ambient temp is 0 would be fun as hell.

Give it a few shots with not doing a long burnout like that, just spin the hides over a few times to clean them.. Truck is a beast for sure

+1
I found that when I did a longer burn out on my stock tires it was actually hurting me more than helping. I just pull up and do a two count and then roll out of it. Seems to work best so far for me
