Well just got home from the track and after putting the 3.89's in, ran a 10.47 @ 130 and a 10.46 @ 129. Still spinning off the line. So next time I will cut the nos down to 50% off the line and the rest in at 2 seconds. It is really pulling hard ,just need to get it to hook up and should see 10.15's to 10.20's I think. The mph is good for that. Thats on a 250 shot. Wow a 10 lb. bottle does'n't last long.

What is the suspension setup? Stall speed? 60 ft times?
Sorry for all the questions.

Won't be long and you will be a tenth from a 9 second run, then the fun begins. Everything counts from that point on. Bigger shot after launch or start looking for weight savings I guess ?
Congrats !!!

10.10's. Have a friend with a Nova that turned 9.80's at 132 mph.

After the first of the year I'll order the front Bogarts and tires ( vacation money). Then at tax time order the front coil overs. After that I'll save ( or rob a bank ) for my solid roller cam and lifters and rocker arms. I know keep DREAMIN
Are you insinuating that I need to loose weight, yuk yuk

Well I haven't been checking in very much, sorry guys. Long story short, was supposed to have at least single adjustable coil overs on the back. But had non-adjustable street type coil overs. So ask a couple of my sponsors if they would donate to a good cause. With a little money from me and a lot from them, I was able to order a set of Strange double adjustable coil overs. Got them today. My stall is 2800 and my best 60 ft. is 1.52. With these new shocks I hope they will help keep the back end down and hooked up. Not hoping and spinning. The MPH's I'm turning my ET's should be closer to

You could find a 3600ish stall that was nice and tight on the street. Just not understanding the gearing and stall choice with you wanting to run 9's...
The double adjustable will make a big difference once you dial them in.

Why such a small converter. I run a 2600 in my truck that tows my drag truck.

The reason for going from 4.30's to 3.89's is because I was hitting 7 grand way before the end of the quarter and not pulling any more the last 100 or so ft. When we put the pickup on the dyno, the torque and power was between 3200 and 6000. The 3.89's kept it in that power range and pulling real hard. After 6100 the power and torque dropped of pretty rapidly.
So with a 250 shot, with progressive controller set for 200 off the line and the rest in at 1.5 sec. leaving the line the front came up and the back went down hooking for a second then coming up and unloading and spinning. So called Afco , QA1 , and Strange all said, I should get rear coil overs first. I thought I should get fronts first. Any way that's where we're at now. We gained about a tenth. No money for the fronts right now. So we are drilling out the stock shocks and letting the fluid out so the front will come up quicker and hopefully stay up longer from just the torque. Will mess with nitrous off the line also. The trans is a TCI super street fighter turbo 350. I figured it would have a stiff shift kit, but evidently not. So we are installing one now and in about a month I will get a manual valve body. Quicker shifts and the front end staying up a little longer might get me another tenth or two. I don't think 10.43 @ 130 is too bad for a full size pickup with a fat guy driving, do you. And I will hit 9.99 , maybe not this year but it will happen.

Gotta get that rear end to plant and drive the front forward rather than lifting the front up from squatting in the rear. But I cant remember if you are 4-link or not, if not it would be hard to do so. But look at all these other guys out there on stock suspension kicking *** with no more than some traction bars and slicks.

somewhere along the line i became obsessed with 60' times even though i never achieved anything special in that department. lately it seems like the rcsb trucks that do best run factory suspension with cal-tracs and nail it with a trans brake. i guess it shocks the truck into hooking. just a theory from lots of reading.
