Default New best at track last night!

I went to Sacramento Raceway last night and ran a new best. Last time there I only had the Superchips using the 87 tune and my home made ram-air setup, stock intake and exhaust. That night I ran a best of 14.98 @ 90.62 mph, the temp was 57*. Tonight I ran a best of 14.76 @ 91.59 mph and the temp was 58*. Tonight I was using the Superchips 91 tune, ram-air and have added a CAI which is an Airaid MIT and AFE drop in filter, and I also added a Dynomax muffler using the stock tailpipe. I'm very pleased with my times, pretty good for a quad cab with only a tuner, intake and exhaust for mods. I also saw a supercharged 300 SRT-8, it was running 12.4-12.8. The owner was saying the PCM was pulling timing on 91 oct gas, he needed race gas. Sweet looking and sounding car! Saw a Gen 2 Cummins Ram 2500 4x4 run a 13.3 and a Porsche Turbo Carrea run an 11.8. There were also A LOT of ricers, they out numbered the V8 crowd about 3 to 1. It wasn't crowded because it had rained but the track was dry and I got four runs in the first hour (14.78, 14.82 & 14.85) so I came home, didn't care about the bracket racing. Overall, I'm pleased!!

Exactly on both counts. I saw what I wanted in the first four runs and didn't think I would get any faster so I saw no need to keep going. The wife was happy when I called and said I was coming home, got home at 7:30 instead of 10:30. That made her happy.

Great times for such little mods. And they say Quad Cabs are slow, lol. Any mods your thinking about next?

I want to get an LSD rear so I can launch more aggressivly but I will say the track hooked up very well, I launched harder on each run and never spun. Last time I was there I had to baby it so bad or I would smoke the crap out of my tire. I had a 2.19 60' which isn't that bad considering I have a peg leg rearend. When I do the LSD rear, I may do 4.56 gears at the same time. I want to put in a Viper electric fan. Not sure what else, maybe some headers too.

When I left California, they had started referring to Wednesday nights as "Rice Nights" because that's all that shows up - slow buzz bombs.

The fast cars are there for the Friday night grudge nights.
