Default neutral or in gear after run?

im just wondering what you guys do at the end of the quarter mile. do you leave it in gear and let the engine rev down or do you put it in neutral to take the stress off the engine after a good hard run? i'm refering to guys with power not like stockers running 90mph . i have always just put it in neutral and let it coast down while slowly hiting the brakes off and on. but the faster i go the more i'm having to use the brakes in doing this.

I've heard............on some transmissions, throwing it in neutral at those speeds could create some major problems.

Well in that case, I will leave it in gear. I had never heard that it was bad for it. I race in third as per finish line transmissions. But he never said not to go into neutral. And of course I never asked.

Never put it in neutral unless you want shrapnel in your leg! Parts in the transmission spin 2 1/2 times faster than engine rpm when shifted into neutral at high speeds.
