Default Just back from the Track

Well, I was really hoping for low 14's

My best run was
60... 2.333
330... 6.431
1/8... 9.824 @ 72.79mph
1000... 12.709
1/4... 15.122 @ 93.14
This was my second pass,

my first was
60... 2.394
1/8... 9.934 @ 72.52
1000... 12.827
1/4... 15.243 @ 93.39

Both launches in 4wd, first one stalled up to 2600 or so and the second, better one was just flashed up.

I did a 3rd run in 2wd but ended up leaving spinning 1/4 way down the track. No really. Rubber all over the back fenders.

How come i'm soooo slow? What do the #'s tell ya?

Couple things

Your MPH is much lower than I would expect for your HP. Normally I would question your dyno numbers but I know for a fact that Rick's dyno is within about 10-15rwhp of other dynos that my friends use.

Is your truck shifting into 3rd gear in the 1/4mile? If so that could be a problem. When I ran my 14.29@97mph I was staying in 2nd gear throughout. Yeah I had to rev it out to 6700rpm in 2nd gear but it was faster that way than letting it go into 3rd gear.

You're 1/4 mile is easiliy explained by the stock stall converter. Your 60' is pretty bad and with your HP you should be able to bust out at least a 2.0 60' with a 3000 stall so knock off about 6 10ths of a second just from that. Your 1/4mile will also be better if you can keep it from going into 3rd gear. This is assuming you are running a tire that matches the stock 265/75/16 in diameter or larger.

F8L he doesnt have a stock stall. He has yank 3K. Like I have said before I think you have too small a stall for too big of a cam for too big of a truck. You need a 3400 or 3600 for that size cam like I have said before thats why your 60 is SO horrible. I hit a 2.08 60 with just a CAI tune exhaust and 3K stall at 5400#s. You need a smaller cam or larger stall one of the two. You left out an important piece of info what was the DA tonight for your run. Like F8L asked did you shift into 3rd if so keep it in 2nd for yoru mph you could be in 2nd easily. When I had my 222/224 in my 5.3 I shifted out of 2nd at 100 with 3.73s and 31.5" tires atleast thats what it said on my speedo. Also your mph shows less hp than what your dyno numbers show maybe they were corrected a little optimistic IDK. Your track numbers dont match your track numbers for sure, your stall IMO is killing you with the large cam you are running. To me you and F8L are running too large of a cam for the size truck you have. I have the same one and I couldnt imagine running anything more than a 220 in a 5.3. My 222/224 would have needed a 3400 to make it run well nothing less probably a 3600 would have been better but I gave up on small cubes and went to a 418

I dont think the cam is too big really. I mean I had the TT3000 and a 226/.535/112 that Rick designed when I ran my 14.29@96mph w/ 2.0 60'. Then again I'm not sure if I lost as much TQ as he did with his cam. Well, I mean it could be too big but his times should be matching my old ones at least.

Same mods as you: I know I post this all the time but it shows what I'm typing about lol.

N/A Video

Something definately isnt right though that's for sure. I'll wait for more info before thinking of anything else though lol.

Yeah, full weight and then some with the Welds and nerf bars, bed rails, etc. I think i am losing too much off the bottom.

Advancing the cam will bring some bottom back, Rick wanted to see some times first.

Yeah, she is a heavy beast. I could prolly drop spare, T gate, nerf and bed rails for an easy 175lbs, or better yet, get my 240lb *** out of the driver's seat

Yeah, thats pretty heavy. I had mine fairly stripped down when I ran those times.

Well at least you have #s now so Rick can work with it.

Yeah man but I ran a 15.1 with a tune 3K stall ebay intake and dual exhaust you should be alot faster then me especially since you started out with 30more hp form the get go and I was running a clutch fan you have efans. Your cam is leaving alot to be desired on the bottom end IMO.
