Had a pretty interesting day at the track today.
Got a bit of a late start, as I only got about 3.5 hours of sleep last night, and while trying to make up lost time, I got a nice little visit from a NJ state trooper. Cruising with the flow of traffic, maybe a bit quicker at about 78 in a 65, spot the cop too late. He pulls out, lights come on, I pull over.
Ended up with this INCREDIBLY friendly little present when all was said and done. Lucked the hell out.

Continue on to the track without incident.
Previous best time was a 13.282 @ 99.96.
First run was with the truck still hot from the drive down, and didn't really hook off the line. Front end took a violent hop, and I thought I blew up the front diff.
Finally got my 100mph trap speed though.

Second run. 13.163 @ 100.08
Still didn't DEAD hook, but managed to cut a 1.79 60'.

Last two runs.

And that's when things got really interesting. So earlier in the day I got a shot of this badass S10.

From the staging lanes I hear something funky, and see some smoke starting to rise. Run over, and see this.

Aftermath.

They cleaned up the track, but on the first or second run a Mustang oiled down the WHOLE track, and they called it a day (and a season).

4x4 and not dead hooking? Street tires I assume? Have you tried dropping pressure? If you can get that 60 down just a wee bit....
Congrats on the new best, now get to work!
PS I added you on Flickr

), and my pressure was probably a bit high, but my pressure gauge broke halfway through dropping the pressure after my first run.
This was the first time I've not had it dead hook, it was just a perfect storm.Added you back, by the way.

Thanks. The only things on the table currently are some light 17s, 30" tall Hankook Ventus STs, and probably a true trac if I can find someone with some experience to help me install it. I'll also be getting it retuned for 93 octane this spring, I'm curious to see how much this 87 octane tune is holding me back.
