With basic drag racing tips, etiquette, and tricks?

I'd be all for writing one up if someone wants to help with input.

My loacl forum (Norcal-LS1.com) has one that also talks about Density Altitude and gives links so you can figure out your own DA.

I think it would be a great way to make this site stand out as a real Tech site and not just another place to ask which intake or billet grille is best.

Is Density Altitude just the same thing as your altitude?

LOL, the site is essentially new but there are old thread still in here and all of our stuff form LS1Tech is here. Kinda.

Density Altitude is a measurment of effective altitude for wherever you may be at one point in time. You may have a stitic altitude of 50ft. above sea level but depending on weather conditions such as Temp, dew point, barometric pressure and such you can change the "effective" altitude you experience. The higher the DA # the less oxygen in the air which makes it like you were racing at a higher elevation. Here in Sacrmento we can have DA # of -1000ft to +3000ft so you can see how that would effect how fast you run at the track. You NEED these measurements to be able to accurately track the progress of your truck. If you don't take DA measurements then go racing after installing a new simple mod how do you know it helped you at all? Maybe it was just the DA that helped?

Cool, we can piece one together and see if it meets with approval.

I have to work today and have Kung Fu tonight so I won't have time today but we can at least get it started. People can add tips as go as well. Just like any tech sticky.

My tip to add for the other brands, wait till the green light comes on then go.

My tip to add for GM trucks, when the last yellow lights up, GO!
