Default I cant believe the power difference.

So with the 4.8 and the mods below, I could only best a 16.3
Swap in an LQ9 and Marine injectors with the same mods, 15.01 uncorrected.

With Drag calculator, corrected = 14.77

Damn near 2 seconds off. Tune not dialed in yet, and I hit the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift.

I also figured out that if you punch it off the line, no good. Roll it off the line and then punch it...faster but still traction issue. Run it in first gear, dont stall and let it move till about 30 then punch it works well. I need drag radials or slicks.

And the locals will not run me now. HA!

wow. 2 seconds is around 200 hp in gains.Obviously the 6.0 makes more torque by a long shot that helps too.

Some guys make the 4.8 go rather good but it takes a lot of boost or nitrous. The 6.0 certainly is a huge step in the right direction.

I know the 6.0 has more torque, but I also think the stock injectors were holding back the 4.8 as well. I am sure I can get into the 14's uncorrected if I can manage the traction. How do we change our title from Tech regular to the 14 second truck club?

LQ9 should easily go 14s.

I went 14.10s with little more than stock LQ9, headers, and 4.10s.

I am pretty sure you can do it in your userCP towards the top of this page.

I have stock 3.73's now, and have Motive 4.11's in the box waiting. I am not sure if I even want to put the 4.11's in.

Just checked userCP, nothing there LOL. I guess on this site a mod does have to do it. I remember a thread where you had to post your time slip in order for them to put "14 second club" or whatever time bracket your in.

A buddy of mine went from a 4.8 cam, headers (5spd) to a 6.0 cam milled heads and headers and dropped a second off his 1/8th mile and the tune blows ***** and had a ton of traction issues. 6.0 is the best bang for the buck mod IMO

Yea I know the feeling, I pulled out a moded 4.7 and put a stock 5.7 Hemi save for long tubes and dual exhaust in its place. Picked up 7 tenths over my previous best runs in 30*F weather and it was 100*F outside at the time. There really is no replacement for displacement.
