has any one made there own octane booster useing tulene i read that people mix 10%-20% in there tanks to boost octane is this safe for the fuel system ? also would this mean you need 1 gallon of tulene for every 10 gallons of gas ??

we used to do it in my bro's lt SS camaro. that was before we were ballin enough to actually buy race gas. never had any issues, but i don't really recommend using it. just go ahead and buy 110 low lead if you can find it. oh yeah, if you do it, be sure to add in some Marvel Mystery Oil, it helps keep the mixture from being too harsh. after all, tulene is a solvent
