17.45
#1
So i took my rig to strip the other night.
17.45 new best time.
old best was 17.99
not bad coming from a 1996 lifted 4x4 F-150 with stock trans and stock 351 sitting on 35x12.5r15 tires and 3.55 gears.
I did one mod to my truck to get that time. I put a K&N FIPK on part no. 57-2543.
I can't wait to put the new VB and torque converter in with the 4.10's
gonna pull the lift out as well and run 265's

Good Job..dropped a 1/2 second..Are you sure you have a 351...isn't a 5.4 a 331 ci...Not a ford guy so I am not sure about the 96 model...but thought it was either 4.6 or 5.4...Look into gears and exhaust/headers next

next mods are gonna be true dual exhaust with cut outs. over the winter I am buying light weight wheels and smaller tires. a torque converter and vb gonna keep the engine as stock as possible and see what I can get with just bolt on stuff before I do the H/C/I swap.
although the LS1 chevs make me want to sell mine.

I trapped 76mph in that run. so my truck is shifting right and I know how to drive the damn thing ( how hard is it put it in drive and floor it) no real skill at 17 seconds.
but its a start and now im looking at getting a 351 block a set of heads a rotating assembly 8:1 pistons and a turbo

Any pics of the truck?
the tires and gear combo are killing you the most.
The good thing about running a 17 sec. 1/4 is that its not hard to shave the next few seconds off your time. Now if you start to get to the low 14 sec range you'll find its beggining to require real power to go even 1 sec. faster.

i agree with ^^ 35's with 3.55's need to go imo. post up after u run those 265's. i just ordered 4.10s on a 31.5 tire on 22's coming from 3.23's right now. how much can u really drop et with a swap? i heard its very minimal

I figure.
4.10s 265's lift removed back to stock traction bars 3000 stall converter
long tubes e-fans MSD 6al MSD coil, should = 16.5
truck weighs around 5000 with 250 rwhp should put me 15.8-16.0
H/C/I should put me around 325hp if im correct with those mods I will do the fuel system as well, custom tuned by me, and running a 75 shot. im praying to hit 13.9 or blow up trying....
if that happens...
I got a 351 block coming to me in a week
