Default GM 4wd drag racers come in...

Ok I'm starting on my 03 rcsb 4wd build. I have a few questions for the 4wd higher hp guys. First off, what under the front end is the weak points? Coming from the diesel world I know the dmax guys snap tie rods like twigs, do the 1/2 tons also have this issue? My plan is to run a 4l80 with a Trans break, have a rear drive shaft made, lower the rear by shackles and taking the Z71 block out, lowering the from by cranking the bars down, and plan on making straps for the front end like I did on my cummins. What else needs to be done while I have all this tore apart?

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the links, but I know how to lower it and don't want to do coil overs yet. I was asking for the weak links. And stuff to upgrade while I had it pulled apart lowering it.

Tie rod sleeves work pretty good. Keep the cv angles flat and it will be fine.

Thanks for the advice, btw seeing your truck on YouTube was my inspiration to build mine lol. Iv always had 4wds, but diesels, for a "race vehicle" because most of my racing happens in Mexico. My 95 wins 90% due to out of the hole, most cars just can't catch back up. Well I guess 2000ft tq helps too lol.

Here's my dodge vs a stage 2 Jotech GTR.

Where do you get the sleeves from?

Lots of offroad shops will have the sleeves. I bought Rough Country sleeves from Amazon I think.

I have my front end strapped at the track so my angles stay good.

Exactly what I was going to ask! I have a few connections to the diesel world so finding some sleeves will be easy.
