Default First trip to Centerville since new motor

Went to Centerville last weekend for a test and tune, 1000' strip.

60' 1.90
330' 5.43
1/8 8.38
mph 83.69
1000' 10.78
mph 94.88

That was straight motor, 28" drag radials and weight of 4600 lb.

Does anyone have an idea what my 1/4 time may be, hoping for a 12.9. Next time taking some 28" Hoosiers, hopefully hook up and get the 60' down to 1.70. Truck ran absolutely perfect.

Here's a couple of passes:

Low 13's to high 12's. Get that 60' down and i think mid 12's are possible.

Do you think cal tracs would help on the 60'. The M&H 275/50/17 drag radials just wouldn't hook up. Couldn't stall the truck past 1200 rpm are the 60' would drop to the 2.05 range due to spinning.

You need to mess with the air pressure on those tires...no reason you should have traction problems till you get in the 1.6x 60' range. Try those hosiers out next time...you will be mid 12's all day.

the calculation for 1/8th to 1/4 et is "x1.56"
mph is "x1.25"

So, 8.38x1.56= 13.07
mph 83.69x1.25= 104.61

The best for last. That puts me right on the border between a 12.9-13.0 in the quarter. I'll have the Hoosiers next time and cut that 60' down .2 that should get me firmly in the 12's. Next item on the agenda Caltrac and a 100 shot. Not bad for a cam only LS6 at 4600 lbs. On the way home got 19 miles to the gallon. I'm glad you got out and i could meet you. Were going to have alot of fun a Centerville this year. Kris got his 422 storker in for his C5. He's got the EFI class wrapped up this year with the rule changes. He already holds the quickest E.T. and Top speed for the class in his 02 ram air. Hope to see you out there this year.

man, that sounds great! i was wanderin what kind of milage you were gettin out of it....my dads friend isnt going to be down there again till april, he said today that he bent his rearend housing, broke his tranny and he overhauls his motor every two years and this is the 2nd year, so once he gets all that taken care off i will probably come back down....maybe even run the little 5.3 and see if i cant get mid 12's lol....
