Default First time at the track

I went to the track in amarillo this weekend with my 2003 bolted regular cab and was a little disappointed...
I heard the tracks altitude makes you run slower than in houston and everything but still thought id run faster...
Best time was a 15.67 at 90.19 mph...i was on street tires and spun past the 60 foot mark so that could have also been changed, what would be a good estimate of my time if i could have hooked?

You will get alot of guesstimates with this one LOL
You will have to bolt on a real set of tires to see,no one can really say accurately, you just have to try it.
If your spinning as much as you described, then it was a wasted run IMO and will not run what it is capable of.
Trap speed will be up alittle but the times won't be there.

Need to get it to hook. If you're having problems now, its only going to get worse with a turbo. What was your 60'?

My completely stock 4.8 goes 15.8 all day long with a best of 15.75. Only mods are intake, servos and muffler. Thats on 87 octane stock tune, heavy 20s, 3.42 gears, and some spinning out of the hole. I'd think you would run much faster.

Its got the 5.3, intake, long tubes, ory, flowmaster, and a 91 octane blackbear tune... i figured itd run much better...but on street tires i couldnt get it to hook at all, my parents said that they could watch it spin out to about 65 feet and finally grip and pick up a ton of speed...
my 60' was like a 2.57....
After the turbo stuff goes on, i guess itll be an eaton posi, some 3.73s and some mickey thompson et streets. Any guesses on what a truck with my mods would run?

If you're going turbo, don't do 3.73s.... 3.42s will load the turbo MUCH better. all depends on boost levels. Low boost will have you 13s or 12s all day long. Foose04 had a stock 4.8 shortblock in the 11's IIRC. Just depends on boost and turbo size etc....
