First time going to the track gotta few ?'s
Thinkin about goin to the track this weekend and ive never even been to a drag race. I just gotta few questions about the track..right now my truck cant get no traction below 40 mph with nitrous...which really sucks.. every one tells me i can be able to launch with the nitrous, which i have a hard time believing.. also right now im running a 100 shot and was wondering if my motor would be safe running a 150 shot, i did all the tuning to it and i can pull some more timing out and i have access to 101 unleaded, would that be safe? any other pointers would be greatly appreciated
also does any one got any idea what this thing would run..on our mustang dyno it did 14.04 in the 1/4, i know yall will say its not accurate , but weve had a procharged vette that did 11.83 on the track do a 11.81 on our dyno so its faily accurate

Track prep does help alot, but I dont think you will be able to launch on the hose.. you can try hitting the juice midway 1st gear and see if it burns the tires.
If your on slicks, then yes you will be able too launch on the bottle. 150 shot would work if your tune is good, and have good fuel. Log some data and make sure you get no knock retard, and you should be well.
Good luck, and keep it straight

if this is your first trip to the track i would skip the 150shot. just go with what you know works and try and make the most of it. i doubt if you will be able to spry off the line without some slicks. if you can spray a 100shot off the line i would expect to see some mid 13's or better.

also i see how people are taking there passenger side headlights out..does this help much? right now i got the stock intake and filter box but ive cut out the side of the box and pulled out the rubber peice in front of the filter box.i had a cold air but traded it and 500 bucks for my tires and wheels. had to let that go, i still got the tires that came with the wheels which hard *** cooper tires..275/45/20, in time i was thinking about getting some 295/40/20, and was wondering what are some decent tires in that size if any one would know? thanks

Just remember to AVOID the Water box drive around it. Go on last yellow light not green. you should do pretty good id say air down tires to around 20 psi an do a small dry burn out to clean the tires off an get some heated rubber on them. Good luck post up your times!
