I got my Trick 70mm kit installed on my 4.8 last weekend and decided to to take it to test n tune last night to see what it picked up on low boost. 4l80E swap is waiting on converter choice before I turn the boost up.
Truck is a 03 4.8 scsb 2wd with 3.42s on 265/50/20's with torque thrust's. I took it a few months back when it was stock on 22s and it ran 16.3 at 88mph. Then I added a SDPC HT1 cam and BTR dual valve springs/E-fans and tune and it ran 15.1 at 93.
So on 4.5lbs with stock trans and 3.42s I had a best of 14.0006 at 100.3 mph.
time slip goes as follows heres some vids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugvy...ature=youtu.be
60ft-2.21
1/8th -9.14
mph- 80.88
1/4-14.0006
mph- 100.3
It would not brake boost, it would either push the front tires or spin. So I pretty much left off idle. I am wondering if I need some sort of check valve in the vacuum line to the brake booster. On the way to the track, the truck felt weird to me. Usually when doing 60mph on cruise control, Im around 13-15 on the vacuum side. The truck felt under a little load and the gauge showed what I was feeling as it was at 1-2 on the vacuum side. I pulled over and made sure everything was right, everything looked good, so I continued on to the track. I had my buddy check it over with HP tuners and the tune was perfect as far as it running right. After a couple runs I could see that I wasnt trapping in the quarter what I should have been, it was only trapping 3mph faster then when it was just cammed. We ended up playing with timing and air/fuel ratio and got it to pick 3mph on the big end. It turned out both rear calipers had seized and stuck. Yesterday I had new pads put on before I left to go to the track, and when they compressed them, they went to ****. I pretty much raced all night and drove home with stuck rear calipers. My wheels were so hot when I got home, I could barely touch them. I threw on new calipers and rotors today, and now the truck actually coast lol. I think theres a 13.5 in it without being able to build boost on the line with the brakes fixed.

Sorry to hear about the initial bad luck buddy. Jamie told me today. I can't wait to see it on 18+ psi. Let me know when you swap the 80 and I'll do my best to be there. I know those damn things are heavy.
