Track scales said it was 4635lbs, then add me into the equations. I am 175-180ish. 1/2 tank of fuel on board as well.

It is disappointing. What was all done to your old truck?

bone stock L33 5.3 with all of the supporting bolt on mods. CAI, ported throttle body, 4.10 gears, headers, 3200 stall, tune, e-fans, 160 thermo, underdrive pulley, slicks and pulled weight by removing the spare, pass seat and back seat. to be fair 'm still the only one that I know of to run a 13 in a ecsb with an untouched 5.3. Smart people immediately install a cam LOL. The same combo with a bone stock 5.7 ls1 went 13.22. heads and cam later it was running 12.19 N/A.

Its a 214/222 .550"/.550" 108LSA
That must have been more than a decade ago LOL. What are the goals for the truck? Beau tried a 108 LSA cam on a truck manifold and never had much luck. The 108 LSA stuff is better suited for single plane intakes IMO.

Oh it was way more than 10 years ago. i think it was 2008ish?

Kid dropped off a truck this morning with a 4.8 and trucknorris 212/22X, .552/.552, 107 LSA
So far i dont like it haha. Stock converter and 3.23s with 31" tire. It has that cool kid idle sound but doesnt seem to have much powers.

I read/saw all the hype about these cams and the head swap, tried it for myself. To me, it's garbage. The goal is to keep trying different heads and cams. I have a "final" set up in mind and already own most of the parts required. At one point I was thinking turbo, but may just abandon that and put a turbo on my 2500HD instead. Mild setup with an appropriate sized turbo would be a good workhorse in my mind.

That's a good running combination.

A friend offered me a set of 245/50 16 Nitto drags, thoughts? I think without adjusting anything in the tune it will just short shift. They're WAY shorter than what I've got currently. It would help the gearing, but will it be effective?

There is one way to find out!
If it hooks it should help it a little atleast.

I did the math, and the tire height difference would be pretty much the equivalent of swapping my 4.11s for 5.13 gears. It would have the launch ratio similar to that of a truck with a 4L60E (3.06 1st gear) 3.06 * 4.11 = 12.5766 vs. 2.48 * 5.13 = 12.7224

I was hoping to at least find some used 255/50s, but no luck thus far. The next closest thing is another friend with a set of useable 275/45 16s, but they're more of a stiff sidewall road course tire than a drag radial. (Most likely wouldn't work for what I'm trying to do)
