Oh yeah, do you have a BOV?

I ran w/o one when I swapped to the T56 for like a week. I couldn't stand it! Between shifts it'd cause the turbo to surge. I'd build boost in first, shift fast into 2nd and then it would take forever to get boost back, because the comp. was surging. (Angry turkey noise). Anyway, get yourself a good BOV if you haven't yet. Keep the boost you made.

Call me crazy, but I was thinking of doing a line lock setup for the front and rear brakes, that way I could load the engine on the line. I'd probably still have to slip the clutch and kill it, but I'm sure I could build a few psi launching against the brakes. What do ya'll think?

I think a simple fix for the lag, along with the 2 bar tuning, would be to put it on the rev limiter right when you stage and then back off right before you launch. That is probably what I will try first if need be. I already have my HPT 2.1.2 with 2 bar map though. It has been collecting dust for over a week now. I need time off work!

That is why the guy crashed at the track. One silinoid was locked and he pushed the car half way down the track, the tire blew and he went in to the wall. That was a 9 sec. car. He was moving!

i've ridden in a 6 speed truck with a 4.56 gear. it made it a bit more fun, but at higher speeds you could feel the driveshaft speed being excessive. this is the most important thing. even though the engine rpm is low because of the .5 overdrive ratio, the driveshaft is spinning at a screaming fast rate. if i had a 6 speed truck i'd be running a 30" or so tire with a 4.10 gear.

I currently have 3.73's and 31.5" tires(275/55-20). I may drop to 4.11-4.56 but I want to keep my mpg and I also race on 28" hoosier dot's. I will find out soon what I need to do.

with your new setup coming i'd recomend just going with a 4.10. going with a 4.56 at that power level is just going to be a challenge every time of seeing just how fast you can shift it...

Yeah. My favorite all around gear for track and street is a 3.89. That is with a 28" tall tire though. I may have to go to a 4.11 to be happy with the 20's. I don't really think I'd like the 4.56's, I like to do 85+ on the interstate too often.

i see what your saying. didnt even think about how fast the driveshaft would be turning with those gears. thanks for clearing it up for me.
