Default Dumbest thing I ever did

Had to share this:
As some of you know, I had the Black Brick down for 6 weeks. My diff went out as I had posted in a seperate thread. I waited 3 weeks on a friend to show up and fix it (for money) which never happed, so I had to do it myself.
While I waited on him, I decided to work on my air intake and made an insulated box. I stuffed a t-shirt in the tube to keep critters out since the Brick sits outside and was going to be down awhile. Any way, diff just needed some SS shims.... the cast OEM one busted in pieces and wedged between the axle tube and axle...hince, the squalling noise. Put in new calipers, brake line & shoes and made my air box. Finally went for a test drive. All good, seemed to run fine. Went WOT from about 60 mph once, just for a couple seconds. Diff seemed quiet, no wine at all.

Forward to the next weekend...I get her out early in the morning for a WOT run just for the heck of it. Pegged out the speed-o, then I let off the gas. Panic !!!!! Throttle was stuck wide open and I have no clue how fast I was going.., after fumbling around, I had to kill the ignition to get her stopped. I was like WTF ???? Cable broke ?? I open the hood and checked the TB. The cable seemed fine but the TB had a terrible crunch feel and I thought the blade axis had broken. I couldn't close it all the way. Having no tools, I used a penny to get the clamp off to look at the TB. When I pulled the tube off I found my grey T-shrt sucked into the TB. I had forgotten it was in there from 6-7 weeks ago. I have no clue how it was even getting enough air to run.

Anyway, it made for a good laugh.

Had the wot switch hold my throttle open while I was spraying one time.. Talk about panic lol..
I was helping my father in law change the intercooler on his semi and had a blue rag stuck in the hose, it came raining real hard and he went to pull it in the shop and he forgot about the rag and sucked it up on top of #1 piston.. I then had a crash coarse training on pulling a head on a cat engine.

lol Nice!! I think we've all had our fair share of dumb moments. Someone needs to start a "Dumbest thing you've ever done" thread, would be pure comedy.

I bet everyone has a wild story hidden away...lol. I like to laugh at myself. I always tell my dumb stuff.

Once I was rolling my window up (old school crank) and I felt something bite my cheek. Of course I instantly look in the big truck mirror...but I was still cranking away till I hit skin...haha. Slammed my fingers a few times too. That always feels xtra good in cold weather.

How about the wrench slipping and gouging a big hunk of meat on your hand in freezing weather. You have to clean the grease out quick before it really starts hurting or you just bite off the skin that is all F..ked up.

^^ Nice!
My best story was when I installed my drop hangers. I backed my truck into the garage a little to start working on it, and like an idiot I put the E-brake on not think about the rear being in the air. Needless to say my driveway slopes like most, and the truck made it a good 3 to 4 feet before I was able to release the jack.
I immediately Checked to make sure none of my neighbors saw what had just occurred lol. It was a good laugh though.
