You still gear for max power crossing traps
Dont know, but its a street truck from what i can see racing the 1/8 mile. Im not understanding why that truck with its mod list isnt making enough hp to run real quick in the 1/8. It has to damn sure be making enough torque to push 3.42 gears in a rcsb pickup. There not that heavy..

If racing 1/8 then you wpuld want even more gear

342 isnt for most turbo trucks

Dont fear the gear. Especially in a heavy *** truck. Who started the turbo needs low gear myth anyways?

In the end you still want max rpm thru traps...342s dont put next to any truck thru traps at max rpm

Majority of turbo trucks are far under geared based on thr myth

I get that. But based on the myth i have seen a truck close to his build with a 4l80e and 3.42 gear run 6.7x in the 1/8 on pump gas

Well maybe that explains it. How much boost is he on because it looks to leave very strong at the track but then just falls off. The truck i was talking about was only on 12.5 pounds of boost when it ran 6.8x in the 1/8

3.42s would be pretty good for a 24" tire

The whole myth of high gears are better suited for turbo cars I think stems from the fact that you will see boost faster compared to rpm with a higher gear, but you will in fact be slower. So would you rather make boost or go faster? If you just want to make boost then never use 1st gear and there you go.
