Put those 3.42 gears in it, get a taller tire(29" to 30" tall) and let that torque put some work in to move that truck!!!😀

Maybe but ive personally seen a couple of rcsb trucks with nothing more than a 3.42 gear and taller tire run quicker. I have seen his truck run several times also. If that gear is fine then he needs to step up to a taller tire or revisit the tune. Look at his mod list and tell me how quick you think it should be running.

In this case the longer 1st gear of the 80e doesn't lend that well to 3.42s. The 4.10s are helping it get moving and load isn't an issue unlike some trucks whose housing is likely too small.

342 will not help him...he isnt making power to require them

His truck can run faster with his current tires and gearing

Not getting into no pissing match but how much power does he need with that set-up to require them? Tim, how much hp are you making? Ive seen several rcsb trucks with a 3.42 gear run 6.80 to a .90 in the 1/8 mile and one was a 5.3 truck.

Very simple...whats his trap speed? Its not in the 160s+

You still gear for max power crossing traps
