It begins

We made some improvement! My first time out I ran the 1/8 mile in 11.02 @65.34 with a 60 of 2.65 and tonight I ran it in 10.77 @66.99 with a 60 of 2.49. I think there is more there, I just need to learn how to launch this thing. The truck acts completely different with the new transmission and converter.

Finally made it back to the track and ran the quarter mile! I was able to shave .505 off my previous best and add .76 mph. It's not an earth shattering improvement, but it sure is nice to make progress.

I am sure it was very warm? So that didn't help your times. Do you remember what the temp was last time you ran at the track compared to the other day?
Ultimatly it only matters what the slip says in my opinion, but it gives you an idea of how much it really helped to compare corrected times.

Down side is your modifications didn't seem to gain you much if it was much cooler.
The converter alone should typically get you .3-.5. The weather probably helped you .2-.3 easily alone. Corrected times via dragtimes.com is the only way to have a bit a science behind the number changes. So if the weather was less a factor then I am guessing maybe the converter gained as expected.

Nice truck, would love to see another 12 sec tahoe =)
Not trying to be a dick, but the times do seem a little slow though...hopefully it is just the DA causing it, but as an example with the same mods, just long tube headers in addition, I was running 15.6 (with the heavy 22's), 14.9's after the converter and trans(back to stock rims/tires), 14.3's after cam..

On another note, that is a good looking hoe! I'm actually in the process of painting mine pearl white.
