Yeah bud , you did good getting your baseline , you need to first know where your at to get make a plan to get where you would " like" to be

Also as see , drag racing is not as easy as it looks , each vehicle likes different ways of launching , you the driver have to get used to the staging , watching the tree , there's lots if stuff going on ! And the more mods you get you have to start watching gauges as well as the tree and it gets crazy sometimes ! So practice makes perfect.

I know you have a Nelson tune, is this a mail order or in person live tune ?

Reason I ask is a mail order tune from most people is usually not as specific or max effort as an In Person live tune from the tuner , so if you have a chance to go personally let Allen or another give you a live tune tailered more to your vehicle it may make your vehicle run stronger . Each vehicle is different , some like more timing some don't , ect .

That time slip is from San Antonio Raceway. I went to the track the night we did the live tune at Nelson.

Of all the trash talk, and bs brought up about me this wins as the most off base. I am certainly not calling 16.7-16.9 fast. My fastest in the HD at 13.2 if impressive for what it was but I have never ever claimed to be ultra fast.

Good luck on getting the time down on your Tahoe. Like I said I would think it should have been a bit quicker with the tune, but the mods you are going on will certainly drop off some more time.

As for getting into the 12s what is your plan? Boost on your stock bottom end should get you close with some supporting mods to the drive train.

Tomorrow night I get my first chance to go run my truck after having the transmission built, adding a 3000 stall converter and dropping around 300 pounds or so. I'm pretty excited to see what kind of times I will run!

hey man i get your situation...hope you get some good times on your next visit..im in denver and our elevation is terrible...its 5800 feet right next to the rocky mountains...over here a stock nbs 5.3 will run a 17.7 a stock tahoe will run 19s. so that gives you an idea of what altitude can play..anyways my first time to the track i ran a 18.0 with a mail order BB tune, lt headers and bolt ons and a small cam, i then retuned it for the cam and ran a 17.3..after that i installed a 3200 stall and ran a 16.8..after that i got a NX nitrous system installed with a 75 shot and ran a 15.3 as my best time so far...its been awesome getting this thing moving...but compared to trucks here in this elevation its running really well so far

We should be in the mid 90s tomorrow night. If I can shave a couple 10ths, I will be pretty excited.
