Default Baseline Track Times

I went to the track this weekend to get some baseline times. The truck is completely stock down to the paper air filter. I was spinning really bad and would have to let off the gass then hit it again after it got traction.

I did three 1/8 mile runs at 10.4 and the last one at 10.3 with 2.6 60ft and a 2.5 60ft on the last run. I also hit the tow/haul button and manually shifted on the last run as per advice from fellow Chevy owners. It was my first time manually shifting so I shifted at 5400 not wanting to hit the rev limiter.

I will be getting some wheels/tires and suspenssion work done before the engine and turbo go in.

BTW, I have a 2003 RC Stepside Silverado 2wd.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming your screen name would reffer to your other truck then

Not bad for baseline numbers. Keep at it and your times will improve.

My last slip reads as follows:

60 ft-------2.580
1/8-------10.369
1/8mph---77.780

I was spinning bad then letting off the gas then hitting it again after it got traction. I was running with Goodyear Wrangler 235-75-17 tires on cheapo stock wheels.

jaime, why is your truck listed as a 2500? What times have you run in the ram?

kkd, the trucks are rated that way based on how much they can tow/haul in Mexico. The 1500 over there is the smaller Nissan Fontier/Toyota etc.

I will not post my Ram times until some from the Cali Chapter can go with me and video tape it so nobody can call BS. I will take it to the California Speedway real soon and hopefully 05whitehemi will witness and film the runs.

I don't have to worry about that with the Chevy though as I did not due as good as I thought. It feels alot faster than what I did but I was spinning so that doesn't help any.
