Default 26 inch rear tire for drag racing????

I was thinking about running a hoosier Drag radial 26 inch diameter for drag racing at the track. this is obviously a big step down from the stock 2011 silverado tire diameter. any opinions on this.. pros cons?? it would be on the stock wheel.

It will look a little goofy but should work ok. A DR isn't usualy your best bet on a truck but if you aren't making a ton of power you should hook ok on it.

Only con is if you can't make it to the stripe without shifting into OD. What trans and gear do you have? What is the stock tire height?

I would be careful. The NNBS oem driveshafts are only good till 90ish mph then vibrate like hell and blow up. Youll be spinning the hell out of that shaft if you have tall gears with that tire set up. Critical speed on the shaft will take over and blow it...

I've hit 1.57 sixtys on the 16" ET Streets using the stock rims.

Truck is a 2011 Silverado put down 360 RWHP 377 on a Mustang dyno with ARH, Volant, Borla race muffler, and a tune..

The pulls were made in 4th gear and ive seen 125 on the stock driveshaft. it was vibration free on the dyno and street. Maybe cause its the 6.2 truck with Z85 tow package???

You should pick up plenty with the 26's... on a truck like yours a short tire is your friend
