I finally purchased a Powertrax from another member. After I install, to the track I will be headin this Friday (weather permitting). I hope like hell I can break into the mid 15's with traction. Next on the parts ordering adventure is 4.11 gears. That should help take some of the strain off my "Lil Engine That Could". After gears...TB stall. Then I will call it done. hehe

Powertrax installed...I am gonna have to get used to driving with a locker. Truck wants to pull to the right under acceleration. Gotta give the thing time to work itself in I guess.

nothing wrong with a 4.8, guy with an ls6 cam and a single turbo is making 600 to the wheels with one. trust me it aint the motor its your suspension. I have an 8.1 and deal with the same issues you do. got power just need to get the truck to react to it. Mine wheel hopped with the v6 and wheel hopped with the v8 at the track. But finally got a cure for that...

Took the truck to the track confident I would break into the 15s with the powertrax.

NOT EVEN CLOSE!

First pass, messed up the lights, hit rev limiter on 1-2 shift. 16.8
Second pass, let tranny do shifting, hit rev limiter, close to perfect traction and still only got a 16.6?

Third pass was canceled by the F'ing Rain. I was staging, when the "track" officials called it quits.

I know my 4.8 is not the biggest loser on island, but damn, a cammed 4 cyl nissan hardbody is running mid 15's.

I should be pushing close to 300 HP, WTF?

Do I just need to realize my truck will never make the mid 15's without FI or NOS?

There's a pretty big difference between a turbo 4.8 and an N/A 4.8
