btw... what did you have your heads torqued to? I torqued my studs to 90ftlbs with moly lube and haven't had a problem so far with 10# on MLS gaskets, 9.7:1 CR and 19* of timing. I am sure you will get everything sorted out soon though.
Thanks Kenny. That pass was at 12 degrees of timing. We added 5 more degrees and it dropped from a 6.97 1/8 to a 6.84 1/8. It has about 2/10 left in it at that boost according to 1/8 mile et and the calculators.

The heads were torqued to whatever the specs are. I can't remember them though. The heads have been milled twice to even them out. We suspect the decks were just to thin. I have a set of All Pros waitng to go on the engine. They would have been on the truck already, but the truck was running so good, I hated to mess with it. Can't wait to see how you do when you get the tranny in it.

That makes sense. ARP specs are 75ftlb with moly, 90 w/oil. I read were alot of high boost guys were torquing to 90 w/moly to give more clamping force so that is what I did. You may want to do that too when you install the AllPros. BTW.. let me know how you like those heads. I am considering them or AFRs for when I replace these ported 241s.

Got the heads off thursday. The head took the worst abuse. It can be repaired though. The steel liner is fine. The aluminum block was torched a little. It can be fixed without pulling the engine though. The All Pro heads will go on next, Truck should be up and running by the end of the week.
