Question Need help about Comp 918's

To all I read I want to say thanks, here is what I have.

I have an 07 Dodge Ram 1500 qc Hemi, I am looking to install the Comp 268 cam, unpon doing so I was told to install the Comp 918's and titanium retainers. Here is my question, My buddie has a set of the 918's and titanium retainers off his LS1 heads, according to the comp specs this is interchangeable between the two applications. Is this correct? He only wants $200 for both so if the LS1 fit the Hemi I should jump all over this.
Thanks

Comp Springs Break on the Hemi's. The cheaper 6.1 Exhuast springs do not have breakage issues.

Comp had issues with a certain batch of springs, yes. They do/did not all break with use.
Comp has recalled all their older springs and replaplacing them with new springs which btw are even quieter than the blue stripers.

If the set your buddy is selling have a blue stripe I would get them upgraded to the new series. The new springs are shot blasted and look clean and shiney, bright.

They'll still break on the hemi's. The ID of the spring is too big, and the spring will "walk" around and eventually break. You can have a custom spring cup built to fix the problem but it's not worth it in my opinion. The retaiers from the LS1 will not interchange on the 5.7 hemi. I believe they'll contact the rocker arm. Like platinumhemi said, just by 16 6.1 exhaust springs for 60 bucks and be done with it. It's cheaper and a better spring for these motors. I mean if you want to risk runnig the 918's go for it, but just remember how many people told you not to do it WHEN, not IF they break.
