Couldnt you just put a better trans cooler on it if its getting too much heat? I'm just being around my Camaros and a 3600 is pretty normal, even some 4200's that get daily driven.

Yah you could probably get some serious cooling into the tranny, deeper pan... to help out.

An interesting thing, was watching Chip Foos's show, they took a crate fuel injected 5.7 hemi and mated it to a 727 tranny and made it seem like it just bolted right up. Wonder if the ones that come in the cars/trucks can do the same. Just think it would be a much easier way to go about it if we are going to run 500hp +.

Supposedly the block pattern is the same just missing one bolt hole near the top. Down side is the %$#!&$ computer. You can't separate the engine from the tranny without using a stand alone ( no tranny signal and the stock engine computer will shut down ).
Since they were using a separate computer to run the crate engine they would not have had a problem.

Im curious if a 2500 Hemi manual tranny pcm will work. I know you'd have to fab the linkages, etc but it seems like it could work, especially if you could get the pcm to B&G or somewhere for a flash.

Hmmm, very interesting idea!
The other option I was wondering about was the 48RE auto tranny from the SRT10 QC. Anyone know what the bell housing bolt pattern is?!?
