Did you order the Adjustable Stud kit???? I would if you did not, otherwise you just pull off the old ones and torque the news ones in to spec. ... ummm depending on the cam you have as well... If you put in a non stock cam you will need to make sure the spring has enough compressibility to handle the extra lift the rockers generate... Ie: 450 lift cam, 450 / 1.5 = 300 * 1.6 = 480 lift....
If you get the adjustable stud kit you will have to adjust the rocker for 0 lash which some people find to be a bit tricky... The most easy way to communicate this over the net would be.... rotate your engine till both valves on that cylinder are fully closed and then adjust for 0 lash, I do this by rotating the pushrod till I feel the slightest drag while I am turning the adjusting nut on the rocker... Now some people have a problem feeling this drag and it takes a light touch... make sure you are not collapsing the lifter till it bottoms out as your valves will be open when you crank the engine. Ideally you want 1/8 to 1/4 turn past 0 lash. No more than .020" lifter preload to avoid premature lifter pump up. I myself like the 1/8 turn... there are some lifters out there now that want 0 lash and even .010 lash like a solid lifter.
good luck... post back if you need some clarification..

thanks for the help. no i didnt get the adjustable stud kit so i just take the old ones off and put the new ones on? I just have the stock cam hopin to get one later on. Do you know if i will see any performance gain with just these.

The rockers will give you a little more lift so you should see a little difference provided the rest of you engine package will take advantage of the extra lift... and if your rockers are of the roller persuasion there will be less friction and your guides will last longer as well...

1.6 ratio rockers are the standard ratio for the magnum motors, you won't see any lift increase. You will make about 10-15 hp from the reduction of friction to the valve train. The crane rockers should have a note stating that you need a stud conversion kit to run those rockers on the magnum motor.Unless they are the crane rockers made for Mopar Perf. you will need the adjustable stud conversion kit in order to run those on your truck. The factor rockers are just bolted down with stamp steel guid plates under the rocker joining the int. and ex. together per cylinder. Also,if you are running stock valve covers you will need to clearance the oil baffles in the covers. You can do this with a 2x4 and a hammer just flatten out the baffles on the sides of the cover to clear the rockers, but don't flatten them all the way down.I'll see if I can't find the link to a detailed description on this process of replacing and adjusting the lash.

Its not that difficult. The way I've always doen it is..........set crankshaft to TDC #1 firing (you can turn it with valve covers off, watch #1 intake valve open, then close, next time dampner comes to TDC, thats it). Pull old rockers off, install new rockers. Now use the adjusting nut and slowly start tightening #1 rockers until there is no up and down movement with pushrod. I grab pushrod and wiggle it up and down till I feel no up and down movement, when you get to that point tightened adjuster 3/4 more turns. Do intake and exhaust rocker on #1 cylinder like this. Tighten lock nuts then turn crankshaft 1/4 turn. There are 4 notches on dampner, each one is 1/4 turn (assuming its a V8). Each notch represents the next cylinder in the firing order. Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Do each pair of rockers in that order till crank shaft has been spun 2 full turns, you are now back at number one firing. Put valve covers on and light it off. If you hear any ticking try to note the approximate area, go back in and recheck the rockers. Also, a quicker way, but I dont feel its as accurate, is to find the Mopar lash chart and follow it. Here it is.

I had forgotten that the magum motors used the 1.6 ratio.. My Bad..
and that Mopar Valve adjustment chart has gotten me in trouble with large cams, which is why I quit using it... but it should work okay with the vast majority of cams.

Ok so what if i sent these back and got the harland sharp pedestal mount 1.7s. These would work right. Now i just need to know what size pushrod i need. I know i will need new valve covers or to make some modifications to the stock ones. But is there anything else i will need. to do these. Ohh yeah and should i get the adjustable or non adjustable ones the part numbers are CSP-S70037 for the non adjustable and CSP-S70037A. Thanks for all the help so far.
