what possible swap options for a 94 sierra 4.3v6
Hey i just picked up a 94 sierra rcsb 2wd with a 4.3l v6. i want to envenutaly do a swap. This is goin to be a budget build so im not goin with any kind of stroker.. and me and my buddies are doin all the work.
Right now i would like to do a 6.0 swap and 4l80E if this is even possible, im havin trouble finding a build thread.
I know the engine mounts are goin to need to be fab'd up unless i can buy a kit. i know summit has some for like $60. and something for the trans.
Obviously the wiring. i might need to have a shop help me with this part.
So just let me know what the best swap options are for me.. i just want reliable power.. i wont be goin to the strip much with it, just to see what it runs. I also have access to a full garage so i have all tools and lifts access to me.
Thanks. and i will be sure to take pics

You can just get the sbc to lsx mount plates around 40-60 bucks to mount your new engine. If you get the wiring harness and pcm from the same vehicle the motor and tranny combo came out of then all you need to do is mount everything then make that harness a standalone and have someone kill vats and your ready to go. There are plenty of threads on doing this here and on ls1tech. Its really easy to do. You will also need a fuel pump that can handle the new motor. Most people go with a walbro 255 pump.
If your going to keep the motor mostly stock and dont plan on ever going with any FI or stroker setups then why dont you just go with a 4l60e combo? It will be cheaper and you will make a little more power to the ground cause the 4l80e is a heavy bit*h.

I might do a mild cam and heads but no FI any time soon.
What do you think of doin a more built 5.3 and 4l60E instead of the mostly stock 6.0?? from what ive seen these trucks dont need much to be a pretty nasty street truck so i was wondering if it is worth the extra $$ cause i can find a 5.3 cheap on craigslist and ebay
