Default Swap questions

Have a question for those who have done the swaps. I'm putting a Gen III/4L60e in a 1984 C10 and I'm wondering about the shift linkage. Does anyone have pictures or can explain how they hooked theirs up? I would like to use the regular shifter on the stock column if possible. Is there someone that offers a kit to do this?

Default Shift linkage

I used the stock linkage that was in my truck, I used dirty dingo motor mounts to place the engine in the same place as the sbc that was in it(measured from trans side of block to motor mount). This allowed me to use the stock driveshaft without cutting it, and allowed me to use the original column shift linkage. The exhaust you use will determine whether your shifter will work or not, if you use corvette manifolds or f-body manifolds it will probably work with out any changes. I used shoenfeld swap headers for 88-98 trucks and they fit perfect as far as frame/engine but I had to reweld where the long rod attaches to the L shaped part of the shift linkage closer to the frame since the headers hug the transmission pretty close.
