Default reinforce c1500 frame

Anyone got an opinion on how to reinforce the frame correctly? I'm going to fully box it and weld in a 2x4 at the end of the frame, I will also notch it so I can flip the axle. I was thinking to relocate the shocks so they're no longer angled anymore and weld in a round bar just behind the notch but I'm hesitating cause i don't know which shocks I should used with this setup.

Basically I have 2 open questions:

- how should I reinforce the frame
- which (rear) shock should I get

Here's a few shots of mine. The shock mounts didn't work out to well. I wanted to be able to use factory length shocks but they were just to compressed from the axle flip and new angle, they bottomed out and twisted the shock bar from the frame.

Looks good!

How did you like it, noticed any difference? The notch is about half your frame?

It stiffened up the frame but with only 2" of travel the ride sucks at the moment, never could get the factory shocks at the angle I wanted. I just notched half the frame, with the axle flip the 14 bolt rearend hits the bed way before the axle tubes will touch the frame.
