Need tips on Vortec EFI swap to 84 c10
#1
Hi guys, I'm new here and pretty much the reason I made this is to see other peoples projects help out as much as possible and get tips on my projects.
Anyways, I have a 98 c1500. Description is in my profile. I really want to swap the motor transmission and all into the 84 model truck. But don't wanna put a carb on it. I was wondering what all is involved as far as the transmission and motor getting it to run! Any help would be awesome thanks!

You will need to swap over the fuel pump, PCM, harness, trans, engine over to the 84 truck.
The 700r4 was available in those trucks, so you should be able to find a P,R,N,OD,D,2,1 shifter display for the 4l60e.
There are devices that take an electric signals and make them able to twist a manual speedometer. or you can tune the PCM to run a mnaual trans and use a 700r4 that doesnt use the PCM to shift it.
Is this going to be driven on the street with that 12.1:1 compression?
Wondering why you are running the 520/059 Vortec 305 heads? The L31 heads flow better and dont have the swirl ramp that the L30 heads do. Just curious.
Who did your PCM tuning?
