Thanks bro, been losing motivation a bit lately especially with my move to Tampa next week. Engine is sitting in the bay and mounted up, but despite the dingo mounts, it's still not mating up well with the TH350. Guess I have to move the trans forward.

Damn. I've got my dirty dingos and fbody oilpan in and was going to start getting the truck ready for the drop in. I'm replaced my factory tranny crossmember with a low profile tubular one so I can put it where I need it. I just don't want to have to mess with the driveshaft length.

I did a 6.0 swap into my 72 GMC, and I mated it to a 700r4 if i do another swap i would go with a 4l60e or 4l80e trans, the bellhousing mounts up but the crank was too short and the flexplate is drilled differently, i bought an adapter kit from summit and ran the tv cable to work off the petal, mine is an 03 and i think the 99-00s have the longer crank, plus also found out that without the converter locked they don't get as good of fuel mileage, i ran mine without locking the converter couldn't get better than 14 with 3.5 gears, i also had a hot cam in it, didn't think the converter was that important but when i hooked up a vacume operated switch to lock it rpms droped from 2800 to 2200 at about 75mph, i high recomend if you can afford it go with the 4l80e if you have the longer crank don't know if the 4l60 will fit

The long-crank 6-liter can be mated to the 4L60E, but does require a custom torque converter to do so.

I will most certainly be getting a 4l80e when the time comes. Trans and engine mated up perfectly, and the only issue was drilling the 6.0 flexplate for the TH350 converter. The part that made it hard was doing it all by myself, just one buddy would have made a huge difference in getting it in there.

Looks great sitting in there! What did you figure out was causing the tranny from bolting up? Did you have to shift it forward at all?

What was stopping it from bolting up was me, and having to run back and forth between the front of the truck an sliding under it. Word for the wise, get a bud to give you a hand.

Got the tank out, modded one tube and made it my return line and the other shall be the feed. Once the tank is empty I find that you really don't need a jack for the tank. Slid under the truck, moved the tank from my stomach to my knees, raised it up, put in all 8 bolts and that was that.

Got all the lines ran and even wired up the Walboro 255 pump. Will install my fans tomorrow as well as the starter. Had to retap the oil pan for the turbo drain...not pretty but we shall see what happens.

Nice build looking good. Are you using stock tank and sending unit with external walbro 255 or is it internal pump??
