any quadrajet fans?

I like the Q-Jets. Small primaries give reasonable MPG and decent torque. Huge secondaries when you stab the throttle. 850 cfm and up....
What's not to like? Oh, they're a little bit harder to understand & work on than a Holley.

That's what I've heard about them regarding efficiency.
Im looking at buying a 74 K20 with a 454 from my uncle who bought it new, and I'm wanting to make it as efficient and reliable as possible.... and I've never messed with carb'd anything.

They work very well when they are set up right.. That is what they put on about 99% of the boats that ever left the factory.. Even when they need a refresh they work decent. One on my dads 83 bbc dually i do not think was ever rebuilt, runs fine.
