Whats the horspower/torque ratings on the 6.5 turbo diesel? Is there any common problems with the 6.5? is the 6.5 Turbo Diesel a to drive? Also any other info you guys can give me on the truck would be great

 

For that year model you are looking at 250 hp/450 ft.lb. The major problem with the 6.5L diesel is the FSD/PMD module going out due to heat. They are not a bad diesel but they are not a Duramax either. I would not recommend buying a 6.5L diesel to pull with unless you get the upgraded cooling system. There is very little performance parts for truck applications, most performance parts are for marine engines.


WHAT EVER PEOPLE TELL, THE 6.5L ARE A DIESEL ENGINE MANUFACTURED BY DETROIT DIESEL, THEY ARE NOT A GAS ENGINE CONVERTED TO DIESEL, THAT WAS THE 5.7L DIESEL.
