Default 700r4 question

Does anyone know the difference between a v6 and v8 700r4? I got a 700r4 out of a 91 (I think) S-10, that I want to rebuild and use in my 85 truck. I know that it has less clutches in some places, and the way to fix that is by putting v8 pistons in-so you can put in more clutches. I would like to find out what pistons I need before I rebuild it. I guess I could find out the hard way.....by figuring out which clutch packs have less clutches than the kit.

The technical evolution page had a list of that stuff, but I guess it is gone now. I saved a copy of it to my work computer-then I got laid off and they took it- along with all my saved info like that, i tunes, and efi live. Thats my fault, but I didn't plan on losing my job!

they are the same if its a 4.3 v6.
smaller than that and it's a 60 degree bolt battern.
4.3 and small blocks all have 90 degree bolt pattern

So if what your doing is possible, you'll need to use the housing from your v8. However I have no idea if the internals are the same or not.

Its already in the truck. It slips into 2nd. I know the 4.3 700r4 has less clutches in some spots, so you have to change some of the apply pistons to make room for more clutches. Thanks for the info
