Default 70 C10 pickup. Exhaust

Posting for a buddy, he's got a 1970 chevy c10, has a 350 v8 that he just rebuilt, added a mild upgrade cam, intake manifold, holley 600 carb and a set of long tube headers.

He just hook up to the exhaust that was thère when he bought it. It's just , true duals, no cats, reduced down to 2", then into shitty glasspacks and dumped. Its way too loud for his tastes and been picking my ear. I feel like the 2" may be a bit small, but not sure, i suggested going to magnaflows, and perhaps adding in an h-pipe or x-pipe crossover.

Im not a big fan of the H pipe. I prefer an X pipe when possible.

Maybe go 2 1/2 and run through an X pipe with some magnaflows.

Or run a dual in, single out with a built in crossover.

I'm with you, never been a big fan of the h-pipe, think the x would be optimal. Thanks for the advice. I'm just not up on the classics as much and wasn't sure if 2.5" was overkill or not.
