5/7 dropped wye pipe
Hey guys just wanted to figure out what people have been doing with the wye pipe on a 5/7 drop on a 98 chev. Worth it for the aftermarket? Or cut it and tuck the factory one up? Just the aftermarket ones for my truck need double cats and 4 o2 sensors. So they're pricey. Let me know what some good options are! Thanks guys!

I had a 94 1500 Ext cab on a 6-8 a few years back and for the longest time I ran my truck with the stock Y pipe and after a year or two I finally got the stock Y pipe cut and tucked and never thought about it again.

looks like an old thread but I'm on a posting frenzie tonight,
I've done both of these options on two different projects...
if you have modifications are deleting the cats, and some basic fab skills, building your own is the way to go. on my daily driver with a 5-7 drop I have a magnaflow factory fit highflow y-pipe and cat assembly on a 5.7 vortec with the twin cats. was a little pricey, but bolt in no problems, nice stainless piece. better then stock clearance, but still scrapes now and then.

Hah. Just realized this was my thread. Little bit old. Been driving with the stock wye pipe going on 4 years with it now. Hits every now and then but oh well. Been through a few donuts over the years but no big deal! Cats are just about empty on it now anyways time for new ones lol. Thanks for the late reply though!
