1990 reg cab long bed

im thinkin of buyin a 1990 regular cab long bed 2wd silverado with no engine.. and makin it a 12 second truck.. and i can buy an engine for 3400 bucks that makes over 400 hp.. would this get me in that range or would i need more hp

no need for a $3400 motor you can buy a 6.0L throw a cam in it and have 400hp easy. also motor alone is not gonna put you in the 12s u need the supporting mods such good tranny, high stall converter, gears, ect..
