I've read your entire thread at least 3 times now! I've started a build thread on 67-72chevytrucks, as I am gathering parts for a LQ9/80e swap in a 87 SWB. I am particularly interested in your swap because it's the closest to mine, and you've put some miles on the clock. I too will be running a 3K stall and 4.10s. For now, I'll be running a bone stock LQ9 with a cam. Later, I'll do heads, intake, etc. I was wondering how your stock LQ4 with the 3k verter and 4.10s feels in the seat of the pants department. Also, your 1/8mi times mean nothing to me because I'm a 1/4 guy. Do you have any idea what your truck would do in the 1/4? I guess I need someone to tell me how awesome it will be, cause I'm starting to backpedal on my build. I'm looking at my budget, and looking down the road to a diamond ring that I should be spending my money on, and my common sense is starting to take over. Hurry! Talk me back into doing the swap!

Ive put alot of miles on it and its been a great set-up. It runs really stout since Ive had time to tweak out the tune to my liking. I havent had it out to the track since my last times but in the 1/4 I think it would easily run mid 13's. But you should stick with it, its fast enough I can stomp most avg street cars around town, its nowhere near as fast as it use to be but it is still fun! What cam are you planning on running?
