Default 10 bolt in 454ss

im doing a four-link set up in my 454ss but the kit is for a regular 1/2 ton with a 10 bolt, not the 14 bolt. how much power can a 10 bolt hold? there wont be much weight reduction done to the truck, around 1000hp, trans brake, 4000 stall on slicks. i was thinking about 4.56 gears since its only an 1/8 mile truck. how much would it cost for a good strong build?

also, who sells coil over springs to go with that four-link rear?

Go with a SF 14 bolt or 9" now. With slicks and 600HP I think the 10 bolt begins to sweat, it will be worse with more power, a 4000 stall, t-brake and 4.56 gears. Are you looking for springs only or an entire spring/shock?

he already had the SF 14bolt. his truck was first one to use a SF in a 1500 pickup

personally i would just makethe 4link work with the 14 bolt

That sounds like the best option, your 14 bolt will take much more punishment than the 10 bolt. Chassisworks has some nice coilovers.

I know Parish used a 10 bolt in his truck but most Camaro 10 bolts and truck 10 bolts that aren't built to the price of a 14 bolt holds like 600rwhp that I've seen.

I say go with a fully built 10bolt, if your launching off the foot brake and not using a manual trans or transbrake then the 10bolt will hold fine if you build it properly

You can rip up a built 8.5 inch 10 bolt up with only 500 horse in a big impala with enough tire and hard launches.

So your proposed 1000 hp is going to blow through that 10 bolt like Monica Lewinski.

Your 14 bolt can be built to handle 1000 hp pretty easily, but there is also the Dana or now Strange 60, and of course the 9 inch from currie.

I had a Dana 60 in my F-250, and beat on it for years. I never had more the 400 Hp or 450 Tq to the wheels, but the only mod to the 60 was new fluid.
