This is crazy man, I had the EXACT SAME THING happen to me on the way home from work on East I-40 about 3 or 4 years ago except in my case it was a broken hunk of what used to be a brake drum that judging by the size had to be off a semi...I was VERY lucky...the only thing that got damaged was the grill; its a wonder the airbags didn't go off.
I was pretty pissed about the damage at any rate, but looking back I think that if the trajectory of that hunk of steel had been just a few inches higher, I may have not been around to tell the tale...sorry to hear about your truck, but glad to hear you made it through unscathed.

Thanks man. All is cool with me. This happened a couple of years ago and if it would have been a couple feet higher that piece of metal could have very well went through my windshield. Glad it ended up where it did and that the insurance company paid for my repairs.
