Default Rotten Luck Road Damage

For everyone who is not having a shitty day so you can endulge in mine. Here is what I ran into this morning while going out to do some data logging.

Two small wannabe suv things in front of me ran over about a 4' long piece of metal causing it to jump up and allow me to catch it square in the grill at about 50 mph. Trashed my A/C condenser, damaged my brand new tranny cooler, slight damage to the radiator (not punctured tho) and of course broke the grill.

Thanks for your sympathies. It's hard to believe such a simple thing is going to end up costing at least $500 by my estimation.

Grill $150
condenser $100
radiator $200
Trans. cooler $80
A/C recharge $?

Hell of an expensive day for nothing. Anyone know of a good looking all metal grill?
A metal grill instead of the stock plastic crap would have most likely stopped or at least greatly limited this damage.

That would be nice. I can't think of anything really good happening to me in a long time.

You Can Go With A Mesh Style Grill.... The Ones From Trex Or Precision Have Pretty Thick Gauge Wire In Them.... They They Would Have Been Destroyed... But Would Have Saved The Stuff Under It..

If You Were Closer I Would Hook U Up With Some Stuff At Gm Employee Cost.... But Im In So Cal

Darn wish you were closer. Can you direct me to some links that I can look at what those grills look like. I was thinking the same thing about a heavier grill, it most likely would have been damaged, but that would still be cheaper to replace than what I got now, and I was lucky they way it was that the the tranny cooler didn't start spraying it's leak until I got home.
