Stupid thing is ridiculous. Every time i think i'm ready to fire it up something happens. Saturday I put water in it and found out the waterpump bolts tightend prematurely so i had to wait till sunday to get shorter bolts. Got that situated and finished up and tried to crank it over and the starter wouldn't do anything.
Pulled starter off and tried it directly at the battery and all it would do is throw a spark. Checked on summit's site and they have a replacement solenoid for it for 20 bucks. Decided to crack it open and look at it. Turns out it had water in it and from sitting so long it got all nasty. cleaned the solenoid off with a wire brush and put it back together and now it works.
So hopefully today will be the day. But we'll see.
Thankfully that was the problem. Didn't want to wait for something to be shipped in and that starter (even tho the price went down since i got mine) is $250 bucks. Bit too much starter for the truck. Puts out 342ft lbs, so i shouldn't ever have a cranking issue.
