Default YANK pro series tripple disc, which stall?

Looking for personal experience here with using a pro series Triple Disk converter with a built 6.0 and 4l80e trany. Specs are in my Sig. Motor did 468hp/558flbs to the wheels. Motor built to handle all NOS I can throw at it but have not used it yet. The tired 4l80e finally gave it up. Having another one built as I write this... Was not very happy with standing take off's even with the 3400 stall. Tranny guy said to go with 2500-2800 stall...This isn't much above stock. Looking for input as to what really helps get these heavy trucks motivated. Was hoping to buy another one really quick.

Who is the tranny guy? He must not spec converters for LS motors very often. I would have suggested a 3400-3600, but it sounds like you want more than it has to offer. I would say you would have better luck giving circle d a call and getting something speced out for your build.

Did you already get the yank ?

If not get a precision industries Triple disc , excellent well built converter that performs and drives excellent , I had a few of them and one in my dmax as well .

Mine are on the tighter side , so you would want to talk to them about what stall speed they would reccomend for your combo , ask for Terry .

You weren't happy with the 3400 Yank triple disc? What specifically were you not happy with? Was it to tight, to loose....

What size are your tires? What about the 3.73 rear gear? Plan to change those at all?

Tranny guys name or business isn't important. Not gonna bash him until I install the darn thing and it doesn't do as he says... Comes highly recommended for 4l80e's I'm thinking he is worried that wouldn't be able to tow with it which I have only towed maybe 3-4 times with this truck in 10 yrs. Not worried about that and I have the coolers to keep temps in check... Circle D is about 30 from me here in Houston. I did give em a chance but they acted like I was crazy for try to make a heavy pig fly... Rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I will give em a second chance.

No, I have not purchased a converter yet. Most of the heavy crewcabs I have looked on here and at the track mostly use Yank and some Circle-D. I will give Precision a look... Thank man!

I have a 3200 pro series triple disk. I love it. not too loose not too tight... This is by far my favorite converter. I have had 4 different ones over the years...

This is my first TC. So maybe I had higher expectations as to what a higher stall would do for my pig of a truck.. I figured it would help get me rolling quicker.. Am I wrong? Maybe I'm out of the torque range to quick? I don't know... Thats why I'm here asking. I built the motor for low end torque 2000- 3500 but really wakes up after rolling and getting to 3000 to 6000rpm. It breaths well.
Tires are 31.5" tall and 12.5" wide on 20's. The rear gear is 3.73. The 4L80e is being built with 6 pinion heavy duty 2.75 ratio gear set. for strength and getting out of the hole a bit quicker. Changing the rear gear in these 1500hd trucks only have two options I was told. 4.11 and 4.30 I think. Maybe its time for a True Track? Don't want to end up blowing the tires off the truck every time I put my foot into it either.... I'm not to darned worried about gas mileage but certainly do not want to end up with 6mpg truck. It is my daily driver.. Just looking for some fun. These buggers are expensive. I really don't want to purchase 3-4 TC's before I get it right.... ya know?
