YANK pro series tripple disc, which stall?
Looking for personal experience here with using a pro series Triple Disk converter with a built 6.0 and 4l80e trany. Specs are in my Sig. Motor did 468hp/558flbs to the wheels. Motor built to handle all NOS I can throw at it but have not used it yet. The tired 4l80e finally gave it up. Having another one built as I write this... Was not very happy with standing take off's even with the 3400 stall. Tranny guy said to go with 2500-2800 stall...This isn't much above stock. Looking for input as to what really helps get these heavy trucks motivated. Was hoping to buy another one really quick.

Who is the tranny guy? He must not spec converters for LS motors very often. I would have suggested a 3400-3600, but it sounds like you want more than it has to offer. I would say you would have better luck giving circle d a call and getting something speced out for your build.

Did you already get the yank ?
If not get a precision industries Triple disc , excellent well built converter that performs and drives excellent , I had a few of them and one in my dmax as well .
Mine are on the tighter side , so you would want to talk to them about what stall speed they would reccomend for your combo , ask for Terry .

No, I have not purchased a converter yet. Most of the heavy crewcabs I have looked on here and at the track mostly use Yank and some Circle-D. I will give Precision a look... Thank man!

Tires are 31.5" tall and 12.5" wide on 20's. The rear gear is 3.73. The 4L80e is being built with 6 pinion heavy duty 2.75 ratio gear set. for strength and getting out of the hole a bit quicker. Changing the rear gear in these 1500hd trucks only have two options I was told. 4.11 and 4.30 I think. Maybe its time for a True Track? Don't want to end up blowing the tires off the truck every time I put my foot into it either.... I'm not to darned worried about gas mileage but certainly do not want to end up with 6mpg truck. It is my daily driver.. Just looking for some fun. These buggers are expensive. I really don't want to purchase 3-4 TC's before I get it right.... ya know?
